Our Founder

Our founder, Mr. Amar Lulla had always been a pillar of protection for Cipla. He entered Cipla in 1976. He then joined the Board of Directors in 1990 and became its Joint Managing Director & Chief Executive in 2000.  Mr Lulla's legacy is that he helped set up world-class manufacturing facilities at Goa and Indore, and put Cipla on the International pharma map.

He was responsible for the operations, including international business, manufacturing, technical services, finance and administration. Mr. Lulla was a workaholic, with a clear-thinking ability and clarity of objectives.

Mr. M. K. Hamied, Chairman & Joint MD of Cipla, defines Mr.Lulla's contribution as “pivotal”. A brilliant mind combined with a sharp instinct and a winning personality, Mr. Lulla was able to establish long, close and very fruitful associations with various industrial forces, across the globe.
